In the late 1800's, the Cuban revolutionary José Marti helped to liberate his country from Spain. Every Cuban child knows his story. In 1949, when a statue of Marti is defaced by some drunken U.S. Marines, the 23-year-old Fidel Castro (VICTOR HUGGO MARTIN), his brother Raul (MAURICE COMPTE), their friend Rafael Diaz Balart (ENRIQUE ARCE) and others rush to defend the honor of their hero in a brawl that is halted by the military police. |
